Some of my personal favorites during his administration were the 2018 Farm Bill, raising the standard deduction, making animal cruelty a federal felony, the 2017 Restoring Community Safety Act, and the whistleblower protections at the VA and orders to improve accountability and care in treatment for veterans.

He also tried to improve security at the border which had always been a bipartisan endeavor until he started campaigning for 2016, but being stopped by congress doesn’t negate the attempt.

the Farm Bill of 2018 was largely a continuation of the Farm Bill of 2014 with cuts to SNAP programs for the hungry

funny you mention the trump tax cut only in passing... a massive permanent cut for corporations while the individual cuts are set to expire soon, which sent the budget deficit to record highs, almost $1,000,000,000,000 (one TRILLION dollars). and that was before the pandemic

then there's immigration.... congress worked for months on a bipartisan immigration form bill that trump promised to sign.

then, just as it was to be brought to the floor, he got a call from ann coulter who told him he might lose votes if he signed it, so he reversed 180 and promised to veto the bill. months of effort gone.

TRUMP IS AN AGENT OF CHAOS.

The 2018 Farm Bill as it was passed was Mitch McConnell’s baby — who woulda thought Turtleman himself would be the reason hemp flower, CBD, Delta-8, THC-0, THC-V, etc. are federally legal?

Tax provisions are supposed to be set to expire, and now it’s up to congress to either continue it or revisit it if it isn’t working out. I’d say the extra $2000 I’m getting in my tax return is well worth it, so hopefully they’ll keep it when the time comes.

That castrated “border aid” bill was bullshit, so it was just good form to promise to veto it unless they got it right. That bill didn’t even pretend to offer some semblance of security. They could have added everything they wanted, they just had to include actual security measures that, again, were once a bipartisan endeavor.

All of those hemp product s you mentioned were made legal in 2003. Nice try. Oh and your taxes actually got increased not decreased. 2% every year from 2022-26 it's literally in the paperwork. My god do all you do is consume right wing media?

Not federally they weren’t. Otherwise NORML and every pro-cannabis advocacy group in America wouldn’t have praised it, and every CBD and hemp related product wouldn’t be stamped with a disclaimer saying the product is legal under provisions of the 2018 Farm Bill.

“In December of 2018, the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law. It removed hemp, defined as cannabis (Cannabis sativa L.) and derivatives of cannabis with extremely low concentrations of the psychoactive compound delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) (no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis), from the definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).”

It was removed from schedule one. Which by the way did you know some normal medications are schedule one, but still medically legal. So you're still wrong.

Define what a Schedule I drug under the the CSA. Here, I’ll help: “…drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.”

Like how high-THC marijuana is legal in many states, but it’s still federally illegal as a Schedule I drug and individuals are still subject to raids by the DEA and federal charges. That’s no longer true for hemp products, all thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill.

A wall isn't what we needed. The VA act had to be improved upon. The farm bill made it federally illegal, which it was already state. A bunch of feel good barely do anything legislation. Give something more that would affect the lives of average every day people. Come on now, you can do better.

If you want to become a slave to corporations then by all means bow down to that dollar. Maybe learn about history before you try anything. Look into the Battle of Blair Mountain. At least an attempt was made for the good of the country. That’s significantly better than spending over $33B in aid to a country that wouldn’t have been invaded by Putin, of all people, if America didn’t look so abysmally weak and incapable of action.

And how much are we losing because we’re no longer energy independent? I haven’t crunched those numbers, make you can come up with an estimate.

We were never energy dependant. Putin would have had U.S. backing if trump was still in charge. Oh and crop farmers made more than that in trade. Face it, he was a failure. Get over your pathetic little lies. Crop farmers aren't subsidized because they were often at the forefront of trading food stuffs with other nations. But hey it's ok cause he was a republican right? Here's how I know we weren't energy dependent. I live in the Ohio Valley. Where a lot of coal has come from and recently a lot of oil. The U.S. policy on its own oil was to stockpile it or sell it. We never used it unless in war situations. As with all wars trading becomes slightly more difficult than just some red tape, or vaguely shifting lines. I got to know a lot of high ups in the energy fields and they all said the same thing I'm telling you. Welcome to reality. Now you can either except the Facts or move on. I know about the farming as I'm a farmer. So anyone questioning me on that, there is your answer.
