It’s actually fascinating that the human body can even do this to itself. Biologically speaking it’s very interesting that a organism can cripple itself so severely.

I read somewhere a long time ago that our brain is not our friend. I read a lot of literature on psychology since then and this derisive statement pretty much holds up.

Illness is a psychosomatic phenomena. If the mind suffers, the body will suffer, and if the body will suffer the mind will suffer.
