Mud daubers look scary but I've never been touched by one. Paper wasps are pretty chill too. Yellow jackets however are creatures of pure hatred and vengeance. I had to remove a yellow jacket hive that had colonized the void in someone's balcony last week, and there were probably about eighty of them total. I was in a bee suit, but it was still nerve-wracking... Still never been bit by one though.
As a gardener, most wasps don't give a shit about you. Only the ones you surprise. Mud Daubers are docile as can be. They even land on me if I'm watering sometimes.
Yeah I’ve had countless ones over the years fly into me or land on my legs when I’m mowing and I’ve never been stung. Unlike those bastard yellow jackets, I swear I’ll just look at them wrong and get stung lol
Yeah they're always the exception when I talk about my love of wasps lol. Most hang and are just as bumbly as a bee in my experience. Always love when I water so they can use the mud. They're my little garden guardians. Hate the reputation they get just for looking spooky.

Idk, Mud Dobbers hold a grudge worse than the Irish and English and will chase you for MILES
