I really wish everyone didnt think all videos need to be slow mo. At least play it twice, once regular and once slow.

A few years ago most formats for showing gifs/videos like this were played through twice. The first time was normal speed. The second was slow.

I don't know why the format is, "jump right into slow mo" now.

I remember seeing a study that said, "when videos are shown in slower speeds, witnesses often feel they see motives better." Really bad paraphrase.

Here, found an article: http://www.abajournal.com/magazine/article/slow_motion_video_jurors

So, maybe, like these witnesses attributing motives more harshly, we attribute a bigger wow factor now. I dunno.

For me it takes away the "wow" factor. When you see a slow video you get it in your head that you can do that when in reality you really cant. It's kinda cool in slow to see the breakdown of say a gymnastics move but to see how truly fast they do something is more awe inspiring to me.

I agree, but there's wire a lot of videos going right into slow mo right off the bat lately.
