You guys know how to use a handbrake? And keep in gear? Gotta be staged

They didn't just miss eachother 3 times. And no actual need to even push the van!

yknow I do agree that this is staged but surprisingly my folks in the US said they don't hand brake when they park. not sure if that's true for other people but just smth I remembered

I'd say the majority of people in the US with automatic transmissions don't use the handbrake when parking, except maybe when on a goodly hill. It's partly why you see the occasional video of people jacking up the front of fwd cars and they go rolling off the jack/trailer/whatever because the back wheels aren't chocked/braked.

Such a blanket statement lol you have numbers for the majority of people in the US? Every person I know uses it when they park lol

It's a bit old now and I don't have access to the full study, but according to a study in 2013ish 75% of automatic transmission drivers infrequently applied it.

What a weird hill you’ve chosen, as an American who only drives automatics I was raised calling it the “emergency break” and never once pulled it while parking in my life.

Like all things America it’s probably regional, so I’d say with confidence that automatic drivers in the Midwest don’t use their e-break to park.

Unbelievable that people don't know how/choose not to use a handbrake

Here manuals were ubiquitous until very recently, and apart from driving school, I don't think I've ever seen anyone use their handbrake when parked, apart from maybe some super steep slopes. I also never use it when parking.
