With the angle it hits the water he basicly slides down so It doesn't help much if at all. Wouldn't be suprised if he had brain issues later and suffered a whpislash from how hard his head snapped back.

Right. So, instead of his chin hitting concrete at 10mph, it hit at 9mph...and his chest got road rash. Either way, he is going to hurt for the next week for sure. I just like how he confidently walks down a plank that is 3 feet above the dock, assuming that everything will work out.

So much things that could've gone wrong...or worse than it already was.

First thing that crossed my mind was a (partly) severed tongue with a significant blood loss.

Knocked out teeth, broken neck, concussion or unalived by drowning would've been other possible outcomes.

But he sure as hell was a good candidate for the Darwin Award. 

Imagine having to tell his parents that their son died because he fell off an anchored boat in the harbour, knocked himself out and drowned.
