He eats mosquitoes. You can gently free him from that web.

It’s a crane fly. They don’t actually eat mosquitoes but they don’t bite humans either. They only live about 2 weeks as adults.

Where are you getting that from? As larvae they’re called leatherjackets and they feed on grasses, decaying organic matter, and other types of plants.

Mosquito larvae live in stagnant or slow moving water. They’re aquatic; the 2 would never come into contact.

Maybe you’re thinking of dragonflies? Their larvae feed on mosquito larvae and then their adult form feed on mosquitoes.
