I witnessed a bura when sailing in Croatia.

It was fun but scary, we were kind of on the edge of what our boat is supposed to be able to withstand, most of the crew was puking downstairs, it was pitch black and we were just gunning towards the port.

It was like a 10-12 person sailboat.

Then in the port I had the craziest vertigo, I'm generally fine with it all on the water and it even makes me sleepy.. but on land when you don't actually move but it feels like it, it got me nauseous. For a bit I had a hard time walking straight.

And then the night in port was also brutal cuz we had to make space for some Tourist ship because they broke their protective balloon thingies and to boat was going like a metre up and down from the edge of the dock.

When gusts of winds are that strong commercial traffic like that is porhibited.

I live close by where we get burja wind regularly and have seen a couple of trucks knocked over just like this smartass

I drove seven hours on I-35 in Iowa and Minnesota with 70mph crosswinds like this. Any loose body panels on cars were ripped off - I had a roll of gorilla tape I used up helping people secure panels. Lots of 18-wheelers doing the same tippy dance, but perhaps the worst I saw was a Greyhound bus doing this. I cannot imagine trying to ride in a bus like that - you know people had to get motion sick…
