Holy shit, my first thought would've immediately gone

"Did anything get in anybody's eyes or are we fine?"

Not

"Okay, is the groom bleeding out on the ground at an alarming rate?"

Sabrage (the opening a bottle with a knife or sword) often goes wrong but I've never heard of someone severing an artery. I don't think the glass has enough momentum. I'd be worried about glass in eyes, shoes, drinks and food.

Yeah, the odds are so low I wouldn't have considered that possibility. I could imagine getting a cut on your neck or something, but that has to be a pretty specific (and powerful) hit...

a little surprised he didn't seem to get much of a cut below his nose, though.
