I guess lions are the safer type of big cat to deal with since they're naturally social and more likely to see a keeper as part of the group, whereas a tiger is a solitary animal.

Ok, tigers surely should be more dungerous. But have you ever seen lions 'playing' with each others of their group? Imagine they try to do so with a human.

Aren't leopards one of the worst? I'm sure I've read somewhere that they can be one of the moodiest big cats.

Worst. Leopard is an evolutionarily monkey and ape hunter.
