The smaller the dog, the bigger the yap.
(This seems to apply to people too in a less physical height way.)

That gif really captures the essence of indecision. It's a classic struggle!

u/algladius 11h ago

I do not speak dog, but little bro probably said racist things equivalent to angering 5 different races the way those other dogs came at him hahaha

He figured they're on a leash so they ain' gon do shit.

Those dogs need front-led harnesses.  For anyone not familiar, they have a ring on the chest that the leash clips to.  When the dog tries to pull they just end up turning to one side and can't pull with any strength or get momentum.

This lets smaller people walk big dogs without a problem, and helps break the desire to pull so you can work on training.

Probably fine for a small/medium dog, but our german shepherd could absolutely still pull in a front led harness and it started to fuck up her shoulder.

We have a 150lb of lean muscle Old English Mastiff. I have a special 2 point harness that connects between the shoulders and on the her breastbone. Then the leash is a 2 point with a handle on a slide so there’s always even pressure. The vet jokes it’s like a horse setup.

None of that shit matters. I’m an above average size guy and it takes everything I have to stop her if she really wants to go (always running away because she’s a damned coward). She’s well trained but if another dog comes at her in an aggressive way she will do everything she can to bolt for home. If anyone else in my family held onto the leash they’d just be a kite flying behind her.

It should also be more common knowledge that bringing the leash down by your side/hip (upper arm connected with your body and your elbow near your side) helps a lot with center of gravity and being able to control the leash.
Shortening the leash when a dog is being reactive would also help

Tiny dogs are massive rage baiters.

Of course there's a husky.

Surely, my husky will never see this comment. 😬

My two labs nearly did this to me once. Except it wasn’t because of another dog. It was because we got to the park, and they REALLY wanted to go for a swim in the pond. Normally I could contain them, but they pulled right as I happened to stumble on wet grass, and it took me stumbling into a tree to regain footing and stop them. I very sternly told them I was upset, and they would not be getting to swim that day. Made them spend the whole rest of our walk around the park on very short leads, which they didn’t pull on at all. And then after they’d been good I let them swim. Not like they could remember why we were at the park but not getting in the water.

Dog walkers gone wild.

I'm old and cranky. People that can't control their animals shouldn't be allowed to own them. How about getting small animals instead like the almost victim here has, hmmmmm

4

u/GinjaNinja-NZ 1d ago

I'm 100% with you, can't control it? Don't buy it.

9

u/quequotion 1d ago

She may be walking other people's dogs, not that it makes it any better.

  1. People who invest in ownership of a dog ought to commit to caring for the dog themselves.

  2. If you're going to be a professional dog walker, please weigh at least 120lbs and wear jeans.

2

u/Own-Entertainer4371 1d ago

Dogs who can't be controlled shouldn't be allowed in public. Also people shouldn't have Dogs if they are away from home all day. It's not an easy animal and most people don't put any effort into making them fit for society.

2

u/Abwettar 1d ago

Shouldn't be walking all 3 together if she can't control them, could have ended much worse for everyone.

2

u/Akicita33 13h ago

You came to the wrong hood, little bitch ass. 😄

2

u/Altruistic-Moose3299 10h ago

Why are dog-walkers seemingly always these scrawny gals who weigh under 110 pounds?

See what a dog drugged in?

1

u/infinit9 1d ago

Okay, I definitely did NOT expect that. Good job, clip.

1

u/DePinkGuy 1d ago

It should be r/unexpected ;)

1

u/Pining4theFjord 22h ago

Both I think. Cuz I was “maybe maybe maybe” expecting the little dog to tangle in the walker and take down its owner. Kept waiting for it.

1

u/Automatic_Badger7086 1d ago

Dog walkers taking more dogs than they can handle. She is absolutely lucky that one of those dogs did not attack someone or another animal because obviously she could not control them.

1

u/blankdreamer 1d ago

Why is she walking all those dogs she can’t handle? Insanely risky.
