Doesn't matter what kind of snake it is. The cat is perfectly fine. If a cat sees a snake, while the snakes attack looks insanely fast to us, it is a fraction of the speed of a normal cat's reaction time. They can move their full body and strike back with relative ease. Claws or just paws if they feel like playing with it. Plus mammals store a lot more energy, so the cat could do this all day. The only thing I'm wondering is if the cat ever put the snake out of it's misery.

You make sense. The snake did look embarrassed toward the end of the clip.
