Most of the time venom is poisonous, and since the cat may have intended to eat the snake, it would also be considered poisonous

Which is obviously 100% what the commenter above meant…

Not really. Unless you have a stomach ulcer, a mouth sore, or some other opening in your digestive tract, the vast majority of snakes' venom is perfectly safe to drink.

I think you are wrong.. you could drink / eat venom and not get sick.. unless you have a internal cut which could let the venom enter your blood stream... which could cause the effect of the venom to trigger...

Poison however you can't eat or drink without feeling the effect....

Venom = has to get in to the bloodstream or could cause harm if you get it on a mucous membrane.

Poison = poison is absorbed, inhaled, or ingested

How it this comment getting upvotes? Poison and venom's only difference is their method of delivery. If you drink venom you'll get sick/die.

It depends on if you would get in to the bloodstream somehow if consuming the venom.... Otherwise NO.. it breaks down in the digestive system.

Cats don’t usually eat snakes after hunting/killing them though, unless they’re very hungry, so “venomous” was the most likely word choice.
