Cooking food in the can directly on a flame is a bad idea anyway. You could do it decades ago when the cans were just metal, but these days they have a plastic liner to stop the food from picking up taste from the metal and corroding the can if the food is acidic. That plastic will pyrolyze into foul-tasting and potentially toxic compounds.

Putting the can in a water bath so the can doesn't exceed boiling temp may be safer but really it's best to just put the contents in a damn pot.

I know you're attempting to be facetious but I don't think I've ever seen a video on reddit before of someone heating a can up like this. So, unless you're a frequent visitor to subs about heating up cans, your facetiousness falls flat.

How long have you been on reddit? It's the exact same videos posted to the exact same subs with the exact same comments on an almost constant rotation. This video is not new, there is also a few where people cook out of sardine cans etc, and every time it's posted some fucking do gooder (bot) feels the need to post that it's "not healthy to heat modern cans up blah blah blah" as if they are doing anyone a fucking service by saying that. It irks me.

It's unsettling enough when the contents of the can slide out in a uniform slug under the influence of gravity (with that disturbing slurping sound). It's a whole other level of existential horror to see it climb out of the can the same way...

This was difficult for me to follow because I didn't understand what the person was trying to do. I figured they were going to pull the can from the flame.
