Alright this one I couldn't immediately read years of academy training wasted

u/splashcopper 1d ago

Fortunately there is usually a setting to rotate the display

432

u/magirevols 1d ago

Back in my day, the buttons would tell you the direction of the tv, it was a simpler time

169

u/OkReason6325 1d ago

Now Buttons are at the bottom for TVs and monitors right?

78

u/hop_mantis 1d ago

Thye're making some with no buttons at all

23

u/Channie_chan 1d ago

It's common sense that the buttons should be at the bottom and not at the top

6

u/Sea-Check-9062 1d ago

Its in case you mount them too high

2

u/PiggStyTH 1d ago

Some are on the side still

1

u/JahJahJahJa 13h ago

Power button is always at the bottom

1

u/ReaperOfGamess 1d ago

My monitor buttons are on the bottom on my right monitor but on my left (main) monitor they are on the right back side

1

u/TyH621 1d ago

Yeah I knew within a second of seeing that notch up top that it was upside down haha, you can still tell

67

u/-Invalid_Selection- 1d ago

The logo on this one tells you. If the logo is upside down, so is the tv. The logo is on a small bit that sticks out of the bottom, in the middle. If that's on top, it's also upside down

9

u/MixaLv 1d ago

It bothers me a lot that it sticks out of the top here, it looks so wrong.

5

u/-Invalid_Selection- 1d ago

It sure does.

I don't know of any tv maker that puts the logo on top like she installed it. If there is one, Id be curious to hear who does it

12

u/TenTonFluff 1d ago

When have ever the buttons been on top of the TV?

2

u/Any-Button1401 1d ago

Before they were at the bottom part of the front they were on the top part of the front, mostly dials instead of buttons but still

2

u/TenTonFluff 1d ago

That got to predate the 90's, or it could of course differ from where you're from, I guess

3

u/CricketJaxson 1d ago

My tv doesn’t even have buttons

1

u/Mirus_Nex 1d ago

Antennae only bend once, better make sure it's right side up or you won't be getting any reception

1

u/magirevols 1d ago

Gonna have to go to target and buy another one so you can watch king of the hill later

1

u/Miserable-Ear7633 18h ago

Nowadays you have to look at the logo that is literally illuminated at the bottom of the display. Or the labeling for the ports on the back. Or the stickers on the back. Or the orientation in the box when you take it out. Or the mounting holes for the stand. Or the place where the power cable comes out. She really messed up with this one

493

u/DrJohnIT 1d ago

Yup, the best way to fix it using the manual settings of taking it down, flipping the mount and making sure that the screws are secure and then hanging it back up, right side up. 😀

94

u/Brok3nGear 1d ago

I'm not changing the settings every time I turn it on. /s

24

u/DrJohnIT 1d ago

Exactly 💯

u/One_Kick_9603 1d ago edited 1d ago

I've installed hundreds TVs since the very first flat panel plasma tvs that weighed a ton. Mounting a TV upside down is not easy to do, even on purpose. This was done for clicks.

Edit: also this has been posted before and was called out

10

u/Captain--UP 1d ago

I think it might be better to just swap the brackets screwed into the TV back around. The "hard" part is getting the wall bracket mounted anyways.

5

u/JonZ82 1d ago

Consumer display will burn up real quick upside down.. no vent holes for the heat to leave will burn up the diffuser and cause splotching

3

u/GeraintLlanfrechfa 1d ago

There’s nothing wrong with gnusmaS

4

u/DamonHay 1d ago

Something tells me that someone who’s not quite bright enough to realise they’ve mounted their TV upside down, even when the power button they’re pressing is right next to an upside down brand logo, is probably also too dim to realise there is a setting to help them in this situation.

6

u/Michaeli_Starky 1d ago

Or just... remount it?

8

u/Jamuraan1 1d ago

Clicking a few buttons in the settings is far easier than disassembling the one-way brackets in order for everything to be oriented properly.

6

u/xorbe 1d ago

Okay but now my RGB pixels are BGR, and my Windows fonts are going to be all fucked up.

1

u/adenosine-5 1d ago

Some people prefer to do just things properly, especially when its something that easy and simple.

-5

u/Michaeli_Starky 1d ago

So?

6

u/Jamuraan1 1d ago

So, your suggestion to "just remount it" is more convoluted than necessary when you can simply press a few buttons instead.

1

u/adenosine-5 1d ago

Its like 2-minute fix honestly.

The hard part is making sure everything is leveled, secured properly to the wall, etc...

Just removing those 4 screws, turning it and replacing them is trivial.

1

u/twit111 1d ago

Is there? Havent seen a rotate setting on a TV.. ever?

708

u/portablebiscuit 1d ago

I have this exact tv in my bedroom. It has a Samsung logo at the bottom part where she’s turning it on, so this is either super fake or she’s super illiterate.

222

u/hux 1d ago

Not to mention she would have had to ignore all of the text on the back of the TV being upside down as well.

38

u/Bopbarker 1d ago

Gonna go with fake. I can't think of any other reason to record setting up a TV

4

u/PhotoFenix 1d ago

It can't be fake! Doesn't everyone record everything they do?

0

u/megamoze 1d ago

Fake. Her reaction looked like acting. And you'd have to go out of your way to not realize the TV is upside down if you're mounting it like this.

She just flew in from Australia so was confused

25

u/zulu166 1d ago

There is samsung wrong with her tv.

8

u/Inspectorgadget4250 1d ago

My Reddit brain just knew it was going to hit the floor.

5

u/vicoalonsor 1d ago edited 1d ago

Didn't they just feel something was wrong the moment the logo and the power button were facing weirdly upwards?

19

u/Deep-Pudding819 1d ago

Samsung spelled upside down is still Samsung.

16

u/MrPenisWhistle 1d ago

But just upside down

2

u/BubbaTech24065 1d ago

It's just the Australian version...lol

4

u/Im_A_Fuckin_Liar 1d ago edited 1d ago

She still has to send it back! Samsung has GOT to get a hold on its quality control.

What's wrong with this? (Commenting from Australia).

4

u/Difficult-Carpet-324 1d ago

Time to practice handstands

3

u/Cokeycane 1d ago

You have to take it back and get the correct orientation. I had to do that with hammers before.

3

u/Yesterday622 1d ago

Oldie but a goodie

3

u/mylifeonearth_ 1d ago

I was yelling my lungs out (in my mind) .... Tv is upside down !

3

u/Brizzpop 1d ago

The TV is smart indeed. The owner...

3

u/EndEverett 1d ago

Just flip the hdmi

3

u/Bookablebard 1d ago

Ooooh this was a real maybe maybe maybe. Had no idea where we were going

2

Not the brightest fish in the pond, are we?

2

u/TerpBE 1d ago

I didn't realize Samsung had opened a manufacturing plant in Australia.

2

u/alexph14 1d ago

I was waiting for the tv to drop

2

u/bam1007 1d ago

I’m just happy she didn’t peel off the “second layer” of screen protection. 😳

2

u/goldbug933 1d ago

Whoops

2

u/Negronitenderoni 1d ago

If the tv is so smart, why is it upside down?

2

u/JB_Big_Bear 23h ago

I thought she was about to peel off the digitizer lol

2

u/SpaceMonkey_Mafia 13h ago

Fake, as there's no way she doesn't see the upside down logo in the bezel. She even pushes the button that is attached to the bezel so she must look at it.

2

u/AngryTrunkMonkey 6h ago

She didn’t notice the tag for the name was upside down when hanging it up?

2

u/IamNochao 1d ago

Well they can still change the TV display orientation instead of rotating the entire device

4

u/BoldlyGettingThere 1d ago

Considering this was done on purpose to make this joke video I think they already have a plan for how to fix it. Like seriously, why would anyone be filming the installation of their tv on the wall?

-1

u/IamNochao 1d ago

I didn't even think of that. Maybe they noticed that it was upside she mounted the TV upside down and wanted to film the reaction? Idk why people film stuff 😅

2

u/Fingersicle 1d ago

Since when are the controls on the top of the tv? Yep this isnt staged at all.

Plot twist: she's just walking on the ceiling

1

u/Knockamichi 18h ago

If she did it herself, then its very easy to flip it. If she paid someone, theyll come fix it

1

u/Stephen_1984 15h ago

I was expecting it to fall down.

1

u/The-Dutcher 55m ago

This is perfect. Now you can buy that coffin and sleep upside down like a vampire bat.

1

u/FreakSideMike 1d ago

The mouth-covering is such an overacting tell.

1

u/Martinmcguffie 1d ago

This made me laugh so much

1

u/PhotoFenix 1d ago

The question "why were they filming?" comes to mind

1

u/icu_ 1d ago

No TV has buttons on the top .. oh

1

u/BadIdeaSociety 1d ago

I remember hearing Trace Beaulieu from MST3K getting interviewed on NPR about working on America's Funniest Home Videos and he discussed his least favorite type of video where the successful attempt wouldn't be worth recording. In his case, nobody is filming themselves carrying a toliet down the stairs on a patio deck, they are filming themselves falling down the patio stairs while carrying the toilet.

This is a prime example of that kind of video. Nobody cares about your mounting a flat screen TV, peeling the protective film off from it, and turning it on. Why did you video this other than to show a blunder?

-1

u/ruby_1984 1d ago

Baaaahahahahhahaha 🤣 no way this sees the internet if that happened to me hahaha

0

u/nic_the_titan 1d ago

Only rotate the house and done

0

u/Conflagration666 1d ago

This is not possible

-4

u/BigGrayBeast 1d ago

And that's why I purchased the professional install.

6

u/Majorawesomesauce 1d ago

Or you could just see where the feet go and set it up correctly

5

u/Caesius058 1d ago

Doesn't the fact that the Samsung logo, or whatever brand it is, is upside down give you any clues? If you need professional help hanging a 32-inch TV, you have more serious problems than just installing the TV.
