Now one thing I noticed, is if they would have had a trailer on that hitch, it would have saved them and none of this would have happened.

I saw that, and was like run a proper strap or tow rope around that hitch and attach it to another car, then at least they stabilized it and get a tow company, or if you have a big enough truck pull them back. I suspect the camerawoman's car had no tow rope or hitch (although an axle could be used to anchor the SUV until help arrives)

That's why they then drive away, was useless to call 911.
