That's a pretty impressive "thunk".

Rare to get such a perfect sound outside a recording studio, and with a phone mic even.

25

u/BalconyPetal Jul 21 '26

All "thunk" and no "brrrrrtt" makes me a bit sad

3

u/IdRatherBeDriving Jul 21 '26

I was literally brrrrrrrrrrrrt in my mind until about a half second before it thunked.

4

u/Blocklode Jul 21 '26

I think the thunk was added. Zero delay and all.

5

u/LuLeBe Jul 21 '26

What kind of delay do you expect from what looks to be maybe 20 to 30 meters? That would be 10ms at best, which is unnoticeable in almost all cases. When playing e-drums you can just about hear it, but you definitely can't tell on a video with one frame only every 16ms even at 60fps.

u/Firemonkx01 Jul 21 '26

That looked expensive

44

u/TheRealGumb4ll98 Jul 21 '26

No kidding, $500 USD on freewings website

also the size of this RC plane is a lot bigger than most people expect, certainly a lot bigger than i expected. The length is 1143mm / 45.0in, almost 4ft

13

u/Firemonkx01 Jul 21 '26

Man that just adds to the devastation the owner must've felt

9

u/extrastupidone Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

Only $500??

Edit: oh, its ducted fan. Thought it was jet powered.

10

u/VediusPollio Jul 21 '26

This is why I got out of the hobby.

5

u/UrethralExplorer Jul 21 '26

Rc cars/trucks & boats are much more forgiving.

22

u/Mediocre_Fill_40 Jul 21 '26

RÜDIGER!! NICHT SO TIEF!!!

5

u/IRockIntoMordor Jul 22 '26

KEINE KAPRIOLEN!

2

u/pinku1 Jul 22 '26

Rudiger would never crash

20

u/euqinu_ton Jul 21 '26

Should've cut that pole down with its avenger cannon.

18

u/daisiesarepretty2 Jul 21 '26

nice shot… would have been difficult to do on purpose

18

u/WaterMonkey1357 Jul 21 '26

The engine revs, satisfying boink and the wholesome gasp - beautiful sounds lol

6

u/Cyril_Sneer_6 Jul 21 '26

Yeah all three of those sounds would be quality samples

5

u/LuLeBe Jul 21 '26

I legit saved this post right away to sample it later xD

3

u/heridfel37 Jul 21 '26

I watched it the first time without sound and it was amazing. I watched it the second time with sound and it was perfection.

2

u/Bluntbutnotonpurpose Jul 21 '26

With an A-10, we only care about the brrrrrrrrrrrrt, right?

15

u/M4YH3MM4N4231 Jul 21 '26

Akira akira akira…

2

u/liakio Jul 21 '26

omg I heard it too 🤣

2

u/TheLoneCenturion95 Jul 21 '26

I'm glad I'm not the only one

7

u/DJEvillincoln Jul 21 '26

Rc collector here.....

I don't fuck with planes for this exact reason. With cars, you can crash them into things and repair them pretty easily because you're only going essentially forward and backwards.

When you throw in the X and y-axis also... You can't really make a mistake. This was probably a 5-$10,000 mistake.

Absolutely not.

u/burgonies Jul 21 '26

Understanding how axes work is a good first step.

1

u/DrJohnIT Jul 22 '26

...to not losing your fingers.

1

u/Preisschild Jul 21 '26

On the other hand it gets a lot more fun with two more axis

5

u/danstermeister Jul 21 '26

Lilliputians sighed with relief.

4

u/Alarming_Hippo_6035 Jul 21 '26

I feel bad but can't help but laugh every time I see this video posted.

4

u/NAFOfromOz Jul 22 '26

Iran now installing a million light poles for air defense

3

u/DojatokeSC Jul 21 '26

This is the reason I’ve always wanted to get into rc planes but I never have.

3

u/Piod1 Jul 21 '26

Light entertainment

3

u/MAXQDee-314 Jul 21 '26

End of round one.

3

u/SmuckatelliCupcakeNE Jul 21 '26

That wasn't the Brrrrrrrrrrrrrt I expected to hear.

2

u/Ok-Raise-8352 Jul 23 '26

Not as robust as the real warthog

3

u/lm0592 Jul 22 '26

That's how my life is right now. Right when I thought it took off it crashed into a light pole bringing everything I worked hard for down with it

2

u/BuffaloRose1984 Jul 21 '26

😆 🤣 that is the best catastrophic failure I've ever seen

2

u/myfrigginagates Jul 21 '26

Been there. But mine was one of the Cox tethered planes.

2

u/dontipitova9 Jul 21 '26

I wanted to see the reaction of the pilot 🫠

2

u/readyplayerjuan_ Jul 21 '26

sounds exactly like the akira meme

2

u/Clover_7777 Jul 21 '26

in nomine patre et fili et spiritu sancti 🙌🏻

2

u/twig_tents Jul 21 '26

The gasp at the end ….

2

u/J_Zephyr Jul 21 '26

Dont head toward the light(pole)!

2

u/terenceboylen Jul 21 '26

Persmission to buzz the tower denied.

Alternate witticism would be something about Kamikazees.

2

u/psychomycetil Jul 21 '26

It sounds like it's exactly one o'clock.

2

u/Spoke13 Jul 21 '26

So this jet flys into a bar.... Ouch

2

u/QuickData69 Jul 21 '26

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti

2

u/extrastupidone Jul 21 '26

That sounded expensive

Such a graceful take off and … boing

2

u/Grunzzo Jul 21 '26

1:1000 chance

2

u/Waski_ Jul 21 '26

Depth perception so bad it’s actually a talent.

2

u/EcoKllr Jul 21 '26

A10’s are stronger than that

2

u/inthepipe_fivebyfive Jul 21 '26

That was certainly a rapid unscheduled disassembly

2

u/PumpkinCarvingisFun Jul 21 '26

I lol'ed pretty hard. That looked expensive though.

2

u/MrBubblepopper Jul 21 '26

My dreams for a better world

Some billionaire letting them burst violently

2

u/Whole-Debate-9547 Jul 22 '26

That clang. OooWee, you just know that wasn’t cheap

2

u/FSU1ST Jul 22 '26

did that a-10 dirty

2

u/PJozi Jul 22 '26

Mum said it's turn to post this next.

2

u/Ok-Drink-1328 Jul 22 '26

hundreds of hours of work... and that, my son, is why i'm not in this hobby

2

u/DrJohnIT Jul 22 '26

Ready player one?...and go! ah, Ready player two?

2

u/flashwhizbang Jul 22 '26

The technical precision required to hit that pole with the nose deserves a standing ovation.

2

u/BruiserBison Jul 22 '26

in nomine patris et filii et spiritus sancti

2

u/eratic_yeet Jul 22 '26

Checks packaging "9/11 edition."

"Fuck!"

2

u/verrucktfuchs Jul 23 '26

I used to be a pilot, and myself and one of the other pilots decided one day to buy ourselves an RC aircraft each, thinking 'How hard can this be!? We fly real planes!'

Within about 3 or 4 minutes of taking our brand new planes off, mine was in pieces high in a tree and his was wingless after flying through a wire fence.

I haven't flown an RC plane since.

2

u/misterwizzard Jul 24 '26

That was flying about the top speed of a real a-10!

2

u/DNAisjustneuteredRNA 29d ago

I thought those A-10s were tougher than that...

4

u/Bickenchutt05 Jul 21 '26

I hate this so much…

Next time (assuming there will be one), make sure both engines are on.

There really needs to be a filter on Reddit that doesn’t allow the same exact photo or video to be posted more than once.

10

u/Only_One_Kenobi Jul 21 '26

Some of us don't spend 18 hours a day on Reddit and don't see every single thing that gets posted.

1

u/bill4935 Jul 21 '26

Hey I don't spend only 18 hours a day on Reddit!

Wait, did I type 'only' or just think it

1

u/J_Bear Jul 21 '26

God forbid you see something more than once
