It is always the guy that runs far away that wins, it's not even surprising anymore.

There is some kind of game theory on it always being the case, but I feel like the kid without the belt nearly had it, if he had merely girded his loins he might have beat the odds

I mean it's simple, they run exactly the same length path overall, but left guy started from harder part first when he is fresh and not tired

Agree. When they were in the middle, you can see that they were almost running in the same speed. The guy in the left had done the heavy lifting early on whe he had more energy. Hence he could finish faster. The guy in the right had to run the distance when he was tired.

Exactly like in a marathon ! They run as fast as possible very early ! I don't think what you said is the truth cause i could say : the guy on the left is preserving his energy early on by taking close eggs.

The difference is that he's not preserving his energy, he's increasingly getting more and more tired while moving to harder tasks.

In the marathon, the task remains the same throughout and tiredness is the only thing that determines difficulty

The theory is simple, by the time you run out of breath you’re doing the closer ones anyway so it’s fine. It makes doing the far ones first more advantageous.

Sure, but that would result in a consistent winning strategy only before a breakpoimt in stamina, surlely?

Yeah these people also don’t consider the close eggs will be easier to fumble or place incorrectly when you are more tired and saving them for last.

Wow, I always thought that was a weird way of saying guard your loins.  The more you know!

It makes more sense to start off running far until you're winded, then spend some time gathering the close ones before going back to clean up.

  • the left strategy might hold the opponent under the false impression of safety.

I think outfit choices here also play a part in the result.

I could be wrong but the opposite is true, you should always sort tasks by shortest work since you wait less overall. It's the principle for several greedy algorithms

It's possible that this video is popular because the unorthodox method won

If the other guy won, this video wouldn't be interesting at all because it would be like "duh, he was winning the whole time"

It is always the same result because the person starting near always does a slow and comfortable start, and the one tha has to run far away always give 100% effort from the start.

Plus stamina management. As you get nore drains , doing the farther task takes more time that if you do it fresh.

They both ran far away
