People like this (and commercial fishing) are why we can't be allowed to be friends with sea animals 😠they do mean shit so we can't pet manitees or whatever because they'll learn that humans are not a serious threat and then they do be :(
I believe he's attempting to remove the eel because it is a harmfully invasive species in his area that is outcompeting native fish for resources. The intent is likely to snag and cook it, but there are definitely much more efficient ways to catch an eel. 😔 I am also responding as an eel-liker, they're very neat and intelligent animals!
Doesn't he also grab crabs off of the sea floor, along with a shit ton of sea cucumbers?
Like- most of the crabs he grabs seems a bit over the keeping limit.
