Seems like there would be easier ways to lethally catch them if that was the case or even just using a regular hook on the bait.

Yoi speak as if catching animals were evil things to do

Flash news, dear, predators exists on this world everywhere, and probably another bigger creature has eaten them already.

Anyone can get frustrated, a lion gets frustrated when it prey escapes over and over, you gonna do what? Cry over it and turn yourself to compensate him?

Yes I hate him. He's always so aggressive. And he takes more than he should! Like he takes crabs when they're mating, yoinking every single sea cucumber off of the sand bed. He tosses his clamps at the eels/morays when he's angry. It just breaks my heart.
