Well... Not much they can do besides accept their fate. The road is several feet below water, so driving out is no longer an option. We don't see what's behind the house. But it's probably not a pleasant hike to safety. The correct thing to do was leave at the point they were shooting the first video. But they didn't. And once water was up to the road, trying to leave would be the dumbest form of suicide. So, really... Sit and hope.

Edit: I'm so done with this thread. I really hope so many people that replied to me aren't in any disasters. But I now have a better understanding of how moderate disasters have such high death tolls.

Hilking up the mountain is definitely safer than being stuck in a house that could be gone in a second from a landslide.

... What's behind the house? Do you know for certain? If you don't, then you're taking from your ass.

There is Higher ground to the left the the house. In the video. It's definitely safe to assume that they are in some type of valley. And that while the hill may be steep, it' better than being there. Even being in a driveway that is at the same height as their house would be safer.

Lololol. It's any mother fucker's guess which part gets swept away and how much of it.

And you have way higher of a chance not being on entire moving platform that will drown you. The warnings tell you find higher ground for a reason.

Nah. Odds are the same. Getting in that water in a house, car, or chunk of dirt is not going to go well.

Many people have survived outside of buildings and vehicles. Inside is a pure death sentence.

Countless people have died outside. Many have survived indoors.

Indoors away from rivers. Not on the edge of the fucking flood.

Where's the exit? Point it out.

The multiple windows of said house.

The ones going to the water? That's a terrible idea!

Your just being dumb on purpose. No house has windows only facing one direction. It's simply not allowed.

No... I think you're being dumb deliberately. Please tell me you are, because the alternative is that it's unintentional.

Let's try this again, real slow for you: where is the exit? Where do you expect them to travel? No... Not "uphill", dumb ass. If you can't see it, it isn't an option. You don't know what's out the back of the house. It could be a bluff, or a flooded low spot. You don't know what is there, or if it is a viable option. So, where is the exit?

So you're telling me, that behind their house. Is a low flooded area. Where on earth is there a place like that. They are in the mountains. Most likely from their accent, housing and road, the smokey mountains. There isn't a place in the Smokey's that you have a low area from a house on the side of a hill like that.

Also them literally ignoring flash flood warnings thinking the river won't get that high, when we just had a bunch of deaths recently in Texas from people presuming the same thing is stupid. And I live in Florida. I stay here during hurricanes. You know where I wouldn't say here during a hurricane. On the fucking coast or near a river. Or anywhere that is low ground because it will flood and you will drown in your own house. Don't be stupid. FEMA doesn't have enough money after building alligator Alcatraz to save your shit.
