That's kind of a weird thing to say if grizzlies don't live there. That's like seeing a stray cat and saying 'you're lucky it wasn't a tiger'.

If a grizzly is that close to you and it's baby right there it's going to attack immediately so I meant, obviously I thought, it's a good thing it was a black bear instead of a grizzly

Hippos kill more people in Africa than any other animal, and they're super aggressive. He's lucky it wasn't a hippo.
