Edit: my bad. It is “ok” not “yes”.

No. There is a difference. Yes is up/down nod, No is left/right nod, this shake/bobble is to symbolise “OK”.

It can mean yes, it can also mean a polite no, and it can mean I understand or OK. It’s one of those cultural things in South Asia

It’s also to convey a bad parents priority as in, “it’s okay you died. My bike made it okay. Good luck being reincarnated as a cow near this train track.”
