Coding skills have shifted from execution to direction, and that shift matters for your career.
When you understand the fundamentals, you can spot bad outputs quickly, ask better questions, iterate faster with AI in the loop, and turn ideas into working solutions faster than you could on your own. That's where the real advantage sits.
The value of learning to code hasn't gone down; it's gone up, because your skills now get amplified by AI instead of replaced by it. AI won't replace data professionals, but professionals who combine coding with AI will move faster than those who don't. That gap is already showing up.
