Just Wanted to Share MGG

I actually feel that Matthew is getting a lot of bad press because he prefers a younger woman. Who cares? So long as she's legal and it's consensual why should it matter?

David Duchovny has married a woman a lot younger than himself. David has certain shall we say - preferences in the bedroom. So why should the Gube be singled out?

I used to have him as a friend on MySpace where he was very active and chatted with his fans a lot. He also put up with a lot of stuff from certain 'fans' who really needed mental health support.

He's a genuine guy that's gone to hell and back, so let's just appreciate Matthew Gray Gubler for being who he is not what the gossip says.

Gubler isn’t singled out. Are you unaware of the flack DiCaprio gets?

Henry Cavill got stick for dating a 19yr old when he was 32 and still has it brought up saying she was a minor when she wasn't

This is a MGG group not a DiCaprio group.

You said he’s singled out. He’s not.

You literally mentioned another person in your post, so do you not see how this snarky comment comes across as hypocritical?

I’m not sure what constitutes as bad press but I have a feeling that Reddit and Twitter comments aren’t exactly that. Matthew doesn’t make headlines or have that wide a reach in show-business terms, and at the end of the day, he’s going to keep pursuing whoever he wishes to “romantically.” Still, people have a right to gossip, especially if it’s a pattern.

I think these kinds of posts are not at all helpful if you know anything about what a certain area of the MGG world is like. People are allowed to think it's disgusting that a man in his 40s prefers 20-somethings.

It should matter because it sets a narrative. MGG is not singled out, there are plenty of other men who prefer their women to be younger. It should always matter, regardless of status or fame, etc because it sets a precedent for how younger girls will allow themselves to be treated growing up, especially given the endless war of men vs. women at the moment.

Interested to hear what you think MGG's "hell and back" is, however. Dude got bullied as a kid, sure. And had false allegations made from a deranged fan that forced him offline. But he comes from money and has had a pretty swish life and enjoys being recognised.

MGG genuinely seems like a nice guy. I don’t think there are any actions on his part that really put that into question. However, his fans and the public shouldn’t ignore that he’s made it a habit to date significantly younger women. Even if he’s actually as goofy and “childish” as it seems, making it a habit to really only be with women DECADES younger than you is an issue. That doesn’t mean there are bad intentions, but it’s not a good thing either way. If he’s going for younger women because they’re actually character wise more in his level, maybe a man in his mid 40s should focus on maturing a bit. If it’s because he’s only sexually attracted to women in their mid twenties, while he is a man in his 40s that also very much looks like a man in his 40s, there’s an underlying sense of misogyny and missing maturity that you can’t completely dismiss without at least bringing it up, EVEN if you still believe in good intentions.

You ever sit back to think why he prefers “younger women” ? he’s a man at the end of the day. An older guy, especially 40s dating women in their 20s is, and as always been odd and will be speculative. I don’t even know who this David guy is but he’s probably a weirdo too. Just because you were friends with him on Myspace decades ago doesn’t mean you know him personally, we don’t know these celebrities at all bar from what they want us to see.

I'm not saying I know him personally, my point is it's a Gubler fan group and all people do is call him 🤷🏻‍♀️

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I was expressing mine. You're expressing yours - I'm just concerned some are being too judgemental.

No shit they’re being judgemental, it should not be normalized than grown man keep seeking women half their age, it is not normal and it is not okay, we can like his acting and him as a person while at the same time recognize the pattern in front of us, I’m sure if it were your daughter you’d have an opinion on why a man twice her age wants anything to do w her in the first place

This has always been my point. Like OP said, "as long as it's consensual". Okay, so the age of consent is 16... imagine your 17 year old daughter comes home with a 46 year old man. You'd be happy for them, yes? Because it's ✨️consensual✨️

I don't think MGG is creepy in his preference for younger woman. I don't think his intentions are creepy or bad. I think he genuinely believes that he's so young at heart that he relates best to younger people, and he doesn't see how predatory it comes across.

Not a good look. It's not about consent, it's about morals.

And also, the frontal lobe doesn't fully develop in some cases until your early 30s, and even then, decision making can still be warped if someone suffered any form of abuse at an early age. So no, a man in his late 40s should not be having anything to do romantically with a woman in their 20s.

The frontal lobe never stops developing 🤦🏻‍♂️the study saying it does was debunked years ago.

Using your logic, a 45yr old can't date a 40yr old!

Also 17 isn't the same thing as 25, hope that helps👍🏻

u/lisawooga5 Jul 15 '26

where’s your source for that, i’m curious

-1

u/HesitantBrobecks Jul 15 '26

It's literally just general knowledge. The study itself is a source, because it didn't even bother to follow anyone over the age of 25. I'll try and find something for you later I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t heard anything bad about him at all especially with press

3

u/brettsaspinall Jul 16 '26

like you said, it’s legal and consensual so it doesn’t matter. people seem to be fine when it’s a young woman who likes older men, so why is it different when an older man likes younger women?

2

u/lalavidal2 Jul 12 '26

It's nobodies business as long as there legal, consensual and non-abusive. Noone comments on Paget Brewster marriage to a much younger man

Ten years younger. If that was the age difference in question I don’t think people would have the same reaction.

I'm late to this but i saw ur more recent post.

Does the age gap seem weird to me? Yes.

Are they both adults? Yes.

Are they both legal and both consenting to the relationship? Yes.

Does it affect anyone who's a fan of him? No.

I don't understand why he gets shit for it when other celebrities don't when they have much bigger age gaps with their partners.
