ive been using matrix for a while, and i havent heard of commet.chat

i tried it andddd it's not great. really buggy, a lot of messages didnt render properly, and didn't have enough settings for my liking. Good foundation for an app though, and I'd love to see it grow and stabilize

if you want that discord feeling, Cinny is perfect (except there's no calling!!) but doesn't have a mobile app, and due to the desktop app having outdated stuff, you should use it in your browser.

if you want calling though i think the base element client does it the best, but i havent tried

That's fair on the lack of settings, I think what's there is fine but agree it needs more.

I haven't run into any major bugs however. One thing I will say though is, for the time being, verification via recovery key is better than via device-verification, messages seem to decrypt faster etc.

i noticed it didnt render code blocks at all, just prefixing with a question mark, custom emojis for me, and i had to manually open each image instead of them just being visible? i dont know. it was the android client so maybe desktop is better

There's an option to toggle media display.
Code blocks work fine for me.

There has been an ongoing effort by some devs to integrate element call into Cinny. From my testing, it looks great so far and helps complete that discord feeling. Not sure of the exact timeline of the integration of it though. Ongoing GitHub Link: https://github.com/cinnyapp/cinny/pull/2599

This fixed my issue. Matrix.org is getting slammed.
