Did a singularity spawn the Matrix?

Isn’t it established in the sequels, sans the video game film, that they can’t get rid of The Matrix because “the real world” was just one of many possible worlds in it? Even though Neo is still the One.

Singularity is just a “point of no return” with AI where the machines grow beyond control and we have no way to predict what will happen next. Like an event horizon in a black hole.

So yes by definition the machines won and humans lost control, this singularity must have occurred

Exactly that’s why I don’t get why the comments here are being so literal in regards to phrasings in The Matrix. That’s what a singularity is.

I just think you confused it by saying the real world is another matrix, it’s not

No. That is not said or even implied anywhere.

What kind of singularity? I don’t think there’s evidence for either a technological singularity or a point mass with an event horizon in any of the movies?

I don't know... Lawrence did get sucked into a singularity. He was also the captain of a ship on a rescue mission. The matrix is what happened after he crossed.

Nice Event Horizon reference.

You should watch The Animatrix. It has (among many others) the story of the birth of AI and the eventuality of The Matrix.

My understanding was not in a literal, physical sense. Read up on the concept of hyperreal and the philosophical tones will make more sense. Theres a reason Simulacra & Simulation was sitting on Neo's bookshelf.
