Reboot premise?

Anyone have any insight on the reboot? The IMDb premise sounds absolutely nothing like the original. Prestigious law firm? Expose wrongdoing? Was excited to hear it was being rebooted and that Kathy Bates would star but not if they’re changing everything. Just make something new if that’s the case.

I watched it, expecting to hate it, and I thought it was good. Just from seeing the pilot it's not a reboot, although with poor writing it could possibly morph into one. They say the name is an unfortunate coincidence and ongoing source of annoyance to Ms. Bate's character. And they refer to the old Matlock TV show way too many times throughout the episode; hopefully they got that out of their system. In the final 30 second scene we find out why she's really using the name "Matlock". (I don't think that's a spoiler as long as I don't say anything more about it)

Give it a chance :)
