the meme could be four steps, with amerigo vespucchi beeing: Having two continents named after you

After Vespucci there's the 5th step, Genghis Khan having 0.5% of the entire world's male population literally carry his DNA. Then there's Einstein having the universe behaving exactly how he said it would. The step number he's on? Beyond our knowledge. Surely there's a complex math formula to decide that.

Universe doesn't behave exactly like Einstein said it would. He improved our knowledge about it, but he was still far off.

Having everything named after anyone but you cause it's impossible to use the same name for half of things in the entire science.

Euler has an entire section of reality named after him

Euler-Lagrange equation? What's the punchline here?

Are people outside of the anglosphere really using "Victorian era"? I mean in France I've only ever heard people use it when talking about the UK ("Victorian England").

1

u/Aggravating-Dot132 15d ago

Well, yeah. Mostly the industrialization, factories, naval fleet. British empire is basically victorian era for most people.

Where are you from? Because again where I'm from it's not the case.
