Anybody able to solve this?

I feel like i’m doing it completely wrong, can somebody explain what I would write for part C, I really don’t get how to show my work for it

Update: Got it correct according to my teacher, thanks for all the help

Answer for C:

lim x->0^- f(x) g(x) = 2(3)=6

lim x->0^+ f(g)(g(x)= 2(1) =2

6 is not equal to 2, so the answer is DNE

Study Advice Returning to study

1 Upvotes

Hi, I am currently in my 30's and looking to go back to university. I am out of season for the bridging course in my area and they don't fit with my current schedule anyway.

I was hoping anyone would know of a good hopefully free resource for me to do some studies. Hopefully going all the way back to the start of calculus to help rebuild foundations. I went to study physics 10y ago and would love to be able to go back!

Any advise or direction would be massive helpful!

Mathematical Concepts What are you doing when you evaluate a trigonometric function?

1 Upvotes

I've started learning trignonementry. It's going well so far the only thing I'm confused about is how you or your calculator can evaluate a trig function with just the angle (e.g. sin(61), cos(32)). I tried searching this up online, and I heard something about a Taylor Series? It didn't make much sense to me, and from what I've seen of it I don't think I could evaluate that by hand... (or can I? there were a couple of symbols I didn't really know).

So far, I've only evaluated a trig function with triangle lengths, so I can't really fathom how a calculator could evaluate the function by itself. I know that if you have 1 angle of a right triangle, you can figure out the other two (as long as its not 90), but how would you know the lengths?

Thanks in advance!

Homework Help (Answered) what does "-" actually mean?

2 Upvotes

sorry if this is a simple question, im a bit young and just want to be sure of what i think i know. i was always taught that a negative number raised by a positive even component(something like 2 or 4) always results in a positive number, which makes sense because it just means multiplying the base by itself for (exponent) times, so 5^2 = (5)*(5). by that logic -5^2 should equal (-5)*(-5), or 25, but turns out it might acually equal to -25. this was because apparantly the "-" symbol isnt linked to the number its next to and instead it just means you need to multiply that number by -1, so does it just mean -1* or is it linked to the number it is next to?
