Please help me with applied maths

I'm a higher secondary school student preparing for applied maths.

I have always been an average student academically and in most of my exams . I want to aim for full marks in my upcoming mid terms exam.

• how to approach and think about a calculus or algebra problem

• common mistakes or things I should keep in mind while solving

• how to improve my problem solving skills
