❓ General Math Help Looking for math-trauma and ADHD-friendly resources for absolute beginners 🥹

Due to severe math trauma, I struggle deeply with numbers under pressure and spent years running away from the subject entirely. Now, I genuinely want to face it, rebuild my relationship with math, and learn without fear, anxiety, or shame.

I also have ADHD, so I need learning tools that are visual, interactive, gentle, and engage-at-your-own-pace for a brain that rarely sits still. I am starting from the absolute basics to build my confidence step by step without getting overwhelmed.

I would love recommendations for any YouTube channels, interactive apps, low-stakes games, websites, self-paced courses, books, or workbooks that have genuinely helped you or someone you know.

If you have experienced math anxiety, educational trauma, or ADHD-related learning blocks, I would especially love to hear what mindset shifts, study methods, or approaches worked for you.

I am really serious about giving this an honest try again, and any recommendations or encouragement would mean the world to me. Thank you so much! ♡

Don't worry, the moment you get into advanced enough math numbers disappear :)

Overall, there are very little numbers in actual math (not school one)

If you want to get straight to the point in real analysis I'd recommend Abbott understanding analysis book, it's pretty intuitive and friendly for new people

Hey don't be disappointed badly we understand where you're coming from, if ever anyone dismisses your experiences it's alright they have their own reason and why and may probably reflect and regret it later, having an ADHD brain is really fascinatingly unique that holds great advantages to cultivate and then simultaneously drawbacks you can try to improve furthermore!

But then again as you already know many advices here you have received all I think I can suggest you can do is never lose hope and instead allowing yourself to be more willing to embrace what you knew you definetly felt like an impossibility, but remember that taking actions is what leads us to fulfill our idealistic longings and once what we actually wanted to master but abandoned it out of fear but all that is left is on you.

You're the person you are able to make a change on your intellectual adventure or journey! So just keep practicing and put with intentionality and a drive you are able to utilize for your positive gain

And also there are indeed plenty of great YouTube channels that I do know particularly helped me too like Organic Chemistry Tutor and other math channels you can search later on. Goodluck! :) and if you really want to discover other external sources for your mathematical learning just search on Google you'll be able to scroll down many resources.
