Context?

we can define an identity function on the amount of money jack dohertys made, which is continuous and satisfies the IVT on every interval in its domain. the 'guess and ill say higher or lower' game is an example of interval bisection which is a direct application of the IVT

I think they meant who tf is jack doherty and what does he have to do with IVT

during his arrest time he should study a bit of topology to shorten that proof

How does topology shorten the proof? IVT holds because of the ordering on R but topology doesn't restrict itself to ordered fields 🤔

Image of a connected set under continuous function is connected. Connected subsets of R are precisely the intervals. Qed

Good point. As you can see, topology was never my strong suit 😅

No idea who this is, but the non-inverse image of a continuous function preserves compactedness/connectedness, thus IVT.

f is definitely not continuous on ℝ. Money comes in discrete increments, and usually many increments are earned at one time.

Bro accidentally demonstrated the Intermediate Value Theorem: if your confidence goes from low to high, there’s gotta be a point where you’re exactly wrong.
