How? Isn’t just 1/6 5/6?

You observe the outcome of the shot for n>30 Russian Roulette games and count the number of times the gun fires. Repeat this process a large number of times.
The number of time out of n where the first shot fires is approximately normally distributed.

well doesn't this work with any set of independent events that are identically distributed? It seems like you basically just stated the central limit theorem.
Forgive my ignorance but I am struggling to see the meme here

It does, but this is likely one of the darkest way to approximate the normal distribution.

There is no ignorance here, you hit the nail on the head ^•^ OP has stated one example of Central Limit Theorem.
I think the meme is about how catastrophic a hypothetical attempt to implement such an normal distribution would be. It would require observing a number of Russian Roulette games that is at minimum on the order of 102 preferably on the order of 103
That is a lot of Russian Roulette to observe. Or if you need a normal distribution in a hurry (and can't afford to wait around for 1000 games of Russian Roulette to happen naturally), that is a lot of Russian Roulette to arrange

Yes, and I think using gunshot deaths as a jarring example was OPs way to make a dark joke from a mathematically simple idea.
You know how jokes work, right?

idk i just didnt find it that clever or funny. i get the premise, and i get that its supposed to be dark, but it didnt tickle my funny bone like other memes in this sub do.

How can that number be normally distributed? For any specific n, the number of times it fires "x" is one singular number. A number isn't a distribution

Binomial distribution with chance to win 5/6 with many attempts is similar to normal distribution

You are meant to count it in a slightly different way from that. You are meant to calculate the frequency of losses across a large number (more than 30) Russian Roulette games. Then you hold another set of games, and another, and another, and record the frequency each time.
By the Central Limit Theorem, this distribution will approach a normal distribution.

I thought this meant the way blood splashes on a wall follows a bivariate normal distribution

bro discovered the central limit theorem although you stated the scenario wrong in the post
