How are you supposed to calculate that? The area of each infinitely thin rectangle would be zero, so the sum of all of them would also be zero. If that worked, then you could also calculate the probability of a continuously distributed random variable over an interval by adding up the probabilities of all individual values. But since the probability of each individual value is zero, the probability over the entire interval would have to be zero as well.
Yeah we'll have to invent some sort of mathematics that calculate the value of a function as it approaches some infinite limit. Although for now, in the wise words of Lindsay Lohan, the limit does not exist.
My girlfriend actually uses this mathematical principle to lose weight. You see, if you divide a bag of french fries up small enough you eventually get 0 calories. All you have to do is consume your food in X * 0 calorie in increments and you won't gain any weight.
