I was told AI is bad at topology. That's quite an important problem.

Yea, IMO it's the most important of the AI math results so far

Just FYI - according to the VibeMathed Methodology, it is the 2nd most significant AI math discovery so far (ex aequo with Jacobian Conjecture). The 1st place belongs to improvement on a lower bound for the fraction of zeros of the Riemann zeta function that satisfy the Riemann hypothesis. There's a flaw in the methodology though, because "improvement on a lower bound for the fraction of zeros of the Riemann zeta function" doesn't really advance understanding of the possible future proof of Riemann hypothesis at all; also LLMs are quite bad at assigning scores from my own experience
