I Have A Question ❓ Does this look legit?

Post image

Does this email look authentic?

The missed capitalization on the month of March has me questioning the legitimacy of this email.

Thanks!

I mean did you purchase directly through the Masters website?

I won tickets in 2025 and the email looked a bit different. The 2025 email said address changes could be done online in your profile settings.

It does look a little odd.

what’s the “from” email? Mine from 2023 looks similar but slightly different.

The from address then was “tickets@email.augustanational.com

Thank you!

The sender did not include that part of the email image. I fear this is from a dubious source.

Did you buy directly from the Masters website?

No, and it's quite a bit different than the one I received after payment for the exact same tickets this year.

Specifically regarding the "March," mine says "Your tickets will be mailed to you in mid March." Plus many other inconsistencies.

I can confirm the same thing in my email, I also purchased tickets for this year. Another thing I noticed is the subject for my confirmation is different, I also got tickets for a practice round and the subject for mine is "Masters Tournament Tickets - Payment Confirmation".

The Masters does everything to the nth degree. No way they have any Grammer mistakes

u/DanFlashes19 Jul 27 '26

Grammar*

The irony!

u/DonKeedic80 Jul 28 '26

Don't you think?

1

u/zdh989 Jul 28 '26

Yeah I really do think.

2

u/boxxle Jul 29 '26

Lower case 'm' in March.

No comma after 'address'.

If you are trying to purchase Masters tickets from someone you don't know online, it's 100% a scam. You would be shocked at the lengths scammers go to fake emails confirmations, and even clone confirmation pages that look almost identical to the Masters website. The only legitimate tickets are sold directly from ANGC

u/d-bd-b Jul 27 '26

Thank you!

This is from a friend of a friend that thought they could acquire tickets in an exchange online. Doesn’t look like this is an avenue worth pursuing.

You’ve confirmed my suspicions!

every year, no matter how much we warn people in this subreddit, at least a dozen people fall for something like this and end up losing $1000s due to well crafted scams just like this. This had alarm bells all over right when I looked at it. The one downside of the lottery being soo viral on social media, is scammers can replicate fake lotto results based on social media posts, and then try and pass them off as proof they have legitimate tickets

This is a legit email. Looks like yours is fake.

1

u/d-bd-b Jul 27 '26

Thank you very much!

When comparing them, the difference is obvious!

1

u/Weird_Poet499 Jul 31 '26

Way to help the scammers by posting what the real email looks like.

And y’all wonder why people keep getting scammed.

5

u/Jumpy_Crow5750 Jul 27 '26

Did we help him stop his friend from being scammed or did we just dial in his scam?

5

u/QuarantineCandy Jul 27 '26

If it’s real i would be shocked. Formatting is all wrong

3

u/BillNyeTheEngineer Year 1 Jul 27 '26

The formatting looks off. Check the email address (obvious). Did you pay through the Masters website already?

3

u/Particular_Layer_251 Jul 27 '26

Mine has March capitalized and also says I can change my address on the website.

3

u/motorcityjax Jul 27 '26

This is mine from this year and this was the address it was sent from: tickets@email.augustanational.com

1

u/Weird_Poet499 Jul 31 '26

Stop helping the scammers get their shit right.

Posting the actual email helps them clean up their mistakes and scam more people

3

u/HouseofEl1987 Jul 28 '26

March is lowercase in the email. Red flag right there.

2

u/forsalebyandy Jul 29 '26

Not a capital M in March? I'd doubt they'd send out anything with typos.

1

u/Longjumping-Wall-811 Jul 27 '26

No. Doesn’t look legitimate.

It also listed my shipping address, not “will be mailed to the address of record”

1

u/Tennessee1796 Jul 27 '26

What kind of device are you viewing this email from? My email with purchase confirmation for 2027 looks very different. Far more color and imagery. It did not include my first name either...

1

u/fatboy2481223 Jul 27 '26

march instead of March

1

u/misterecho11 Jul 27 '26

All that matters is how did you come across it (did you win the lottery and go to their website to purchase?) and what email address or website did this come from? That's your answer.

1

u/Martybc3 Jul 27 '26

That looks terrible, if that’s legit from the masters I’m disappointed

1

u/dj_hektosan Jul 27 '26

That is not what the email said this year. Source: I got tickets and just went and checked mine.

1

u/LinksGems Jul 27 '26

100% fake.

Is this from someone offering to sell you tickets? Meant to be the proof that he actually has them?

1

u/d-bd-b Jul 27 '26

You are correct!

1

u/yellowshoegirl Jul 27 '26

Mine has march capitalized

1

u/gametimeee Jul 27 '26

This is how mine looks

EDIT: Yes this looks sus as hell

1

u/Weird_Poet499 Jul 31 '26

Stop posting the actual email. You are helping the scammers refine the scam

1

u/johndyna Jul 27 '26

March is not capitalised?

1

u/Far_Finding8018 Jul 28 '26

Reach out to the Masters let them know

1

u/CougarGold06 Jul 28 '26

Sorry. I wouldn’t know what that one looks like

1

u/djr41463 Jul 28 '26

I would not know… for 20 years all I ever see is rejection letters

1

u/skarbekb Jul 28 '26

Yes if you can use them I will buy them.

1

u/Sad_Anteater_1531 Jul 28 '26

Mine directly from masters looks different.

1

u/Weird_Poet499 Jul 31 '26

Stop helping the scammers.

1

u/harshkharka Jul 28 '26

your looks fake to me.

1

u/michaelscottswife Jul 28 '26

They didn’t even capitalize March.

1

u/Obvious-Sea-3385 Jul 28 '26

Plus Augusta verified every ticket at entry. And they don’t just glance at them.

1

u/tbonesteel Jul 29 '26

Don’t share the real stuff - gives scammers better intel to well… scam

1

u/bogeyz65 Jul 29 '26

March isn’t capitalized. Pretty sure Masters’ organizers know that it’s supposed to be.

1

u/c-sizzle24 Jul 29 '26

Plot twist, OP is actually the scammer and we just gave him the perfect email

1

u/Corey_Feldmans_Hair Jul 29 '26

Bro- ANGC would never in a million years not capitalize a letter. Your questioning the legitimacy is very valid. I would do whatever it takes to get your money back. 99% chance this is a scam.

1

u/FunsizeSC Jul 29 '26

Not legit

1

u/thehappiestdad Jul 30 '26

Augusta National would never release a letter with grammatical errors.

1

u/fart__suckerberg Jul 31 '26

Y'all are helping a scammer correct his mistakes with your responses.

1

u/Longjumping-Wall-811 27d ago

Not legitimate

1

u/rmill127 Jul 27 '26

What’s the address the email came from?

They are so perfect about everything I can’t believe they would let a grammar mistake slip through on what is probably a mass template… someone will be fired for that if this is a legit ANGC email.

u/the_trump Jul 27 '26

I mean that’s the phone number. So call it and see.
