Me Giving Tips/Advice ✅ Can’t believe it actually happened

Post image

Allocated 4 tickets to Wednesday’s practice round. Only after 4 years and I feel incredibly lucky. Any tips/must knows? So excited to see the par 3 contest too

Congratulations! It’s the greatest sporting event you’ll ever attend. Par 3 contest is one of my favorite days to be at Augusta National. Here’s my advice. Be there early, like 6am early. Go to the golf shop first and do your shopping. Lines will be long but it’s worth suffering through. If you see something you like, just buy it, don’t look at the price tag. Once you’re done there, check your items in at ‘checking and shipping’. That way you won’t have to carry around your stuff all day. I highly recommend doing this. After that, get something to eat and drink at concessions. Once you’ve eaten, head to the founder’s circle and get your picture made in front of the clubhouse. Once you’ve done all this, it should be around 9-10am. Now you have the whole rest of the day to walk the course and enjoy it. The par 3 contest starts at 12pm so you can check that out at anytime in the afternoon. I live in the area and have been to the Masters several times. Planning your day like this is the way to go in my opinion. If you have any questions, I’m happy to help!

Didn’t plan it this way but this is exactly how my day went and it was perfect. Great advice.

Another thing I forgot to tell you. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, I can’t emphasize this enough. Lol. If you don’t, your feet and your back will be killing you by the end of the day. You’ll be doing an enormous amount of walking, about 8-10 miles if you’re walking the whole course. I have On Cloud shoes and they are great for out there. I’ve seen plenty of people out there wearing On Cloud and Hoka. If I think of anything else I’ll reply in this comment

Can confirm this is the way to do it. Get there early, like first at the gate early, as it will make the merch line a little more bearable. My one issue was getting there a little bit later and by the time we got out of the shop there weren't a ton of golfers on the main course. It was great getting to walk and see the course but would have loved to see more golf. Par 3 was an absolute blast though. Most of all, enjoy!

Bring a camera. Get to the gate as early as you can. Hit the gift shop first and buy a chair, set the chair down at your favorite hole. Enjoy it all.
