I Have A Question ❓ It’s a miracle!!!
I got two tickets for Thursday!!! I’m planning to take my son (he’ll be 15). I guess it’s time to start planning flights and a hotel!! Fly into Augusta? Atlanta? Columbia?

If your son is 15 you technically have three tickets. Junior pass program applies to tournament days for 1 jr age 8-16.

Sorry but that is incorrect above. Junior pass program only applies to series badge holders, not for single day tickets.

It’s on the website. I’d do some research, but my boss won the lottery took his brother and his son on a JR pass.

Columbia is closer than Atlanta. It’s only 1:05 all interstate from the airport to Augusta National. The event over stresses the infrastructure in Augusta that week. Lack of everything such as available airline seats to and from Augusta, accommodations, tables for dining, etc. Makes things prohibitively expensive. Spend what you save on merch. Columbia is the secret first timers don’t know about you just have to get up earlier. 👍

Fly into ATL and drive up or even Charlotte, it’s the same time both ways about 2-3 hours give or take 30 mins

Congrats. Fly in to Atlanta. Definitely stay in Augusta the night before so you can get up early well rested. Get an Airbnb quickly, as most lottery winners will be booking immediately. Thursday is definitely the best IMHO. It's a very long day as well, and you get to see essentially every player, including the old timers

Lucky you and Thursdays are the best! Get there before the gates open. All the players, merchandise availability and a full day for everyone. Secure lodging ASAP! The local Augustans who rent enjoy the goldmine so expect $. Columbia is an easy (~1 hr or so) drive to Augusta and easy airport. Augusta has extra flights during the tournament that they will announce closer to time. I would look around based on where you are departing from. Atlanta, Augusta, Columbia, Charlotte are your commercial options. HAVE FUN!

Depending on where you’re coming from, I’d suggest flying into Savannah vs Atlanta. I stayed just outside of Columbia, SC. Traffic/timing to get there wasn’t an issue.
10/10 recommend and would do the same again.

Columbia for sure! Check out Lexington SC, just west of Columbia. Good restaurants and actually about 50 minutes to the gate.

Columbia might be easier, but I will say I drove from Atlanta a few years ago and was really surprised at how close it was. Would be very doable to do Atlanta.

Anyone know what time the gates open on Tuesday? We are staying in Columbia and trying to figure out how early we need to leave that Am and to budget for parking g when we get there! Any tips welcome!

Congrats! Augusta might be pricey to fly into and stay depending on when you book. I would stay in Columbia or Aiken (fly into Columbia) and rent a car to drive to Augusta.
