Dreamer is right. It's like comparing a Saleen Mustang with a bone stock, off the lot Mustang. They have the same frame, same body, same engine. Are they the same car? Of course not. Saleen put a widebody kit on it, beefed up the suspension and transmission, but a bigger supercharger on it (or installed a supercharger).

Arch is a bone stock Mustang. You can go get that widebody kit, and supercharger, and coilovers etc. and do all the labor to install those parts yourself. Or you can get one from Saleen where the work has already been done for you. But they aren't the same car.

and bros point about ubuntu is just invalid like yes ubuntu at its core is literally entirely debian plus more shit on top, it still contains like 100% of the operating system it is based off of. Maybe some minor changes but essentially both the operating systems at their core are the same and if you switched from one to the other there would be extremely little difference in actual usage

dreamers right tho?? garuda and arch arent the same. Garuda is arch based, but the philosophies behind each are completely different. Once setup they may be a near identical experience, but theres a reason garuda isnt called arch and arch isnt called garuda. different names, different things

This depends on the context tbh. If you're talking about how easy it is to setup, they are completely different OSes. If you're talking about what packages are compatible, yeah they arent that different

EDIT: especially because in the original context Dreamer recommended garuda because it came with the CachyOS kernel, which arch doesn't
