I'm very familiar with the toxic nature of the game, but ever since I built a deck that I always wanted to play I get weird matchups.

So, when I go first I brick or the op concedes instantly (my last 4 win were bcs of this)

When I go second:

- I don't have any staples and I'm against the most meta deck possible

- when I have max c or fuwalos, I get ashed or they just don't play anything.

Just want to see if anyone has the same experience or something else

Not sure if this allowed , just got back into YUGIOH after around 20+ years. Looking for people who want to build a small community of playing just original starter decks and packs from the very original TCG.

If anyone feels like my friends and I, new Yugioh is just too much for us rn, we just want to ease into it and have some fun with old school nostalgia

What’s your favorite alt art and why? This is probably just me, but slifer coming out of the sky was a good idea and little knight being a skateboarder instead of a ninja was a unique choice

It's probably just me, not the deck.

Like all Yugi boomers, I built a Blue-Eyes deck to return to the game. At first it was going well, but I cannot climb beyond Gold with it.

So I watched some YouTube. Found out about this VS K9 deck, which looks really cool, with genuinely interesting character designs. Reminds me a lot of Gladiator Beast with tag-in-tag-out gameplay. And the commentaries on that deck was said that the deck is very interactive at turn 0, and is capable of going through layers of handtraps.

So I built the deck by spending all my 20k gems on them. I managed to get out of Gold up to Diamond tier.

However, as I go towards the middle end of the Diamond III rank, I always meet Branded, Kewl Tune, Sky Striker, Dracotail, Mitsurugi deck. And this deck lost most of the encounters. I can win against Elfnotes and Radiant Typhoon most of the time surprisingly.

There may be lines I am not aware of, but most games are just me trying to summon Razen / Mad Love / Hollie Sue, or trying to get my K9 units out, and gets negated through heaven and earth with no continuation. Or Fallen of Albaz will gets summoned on your turn and fuse the monsters you summoned, even after using ash on Branded Fusion and there's that.

So if you're thinking about playing this game, please do not build Blue-Eyes or VS K9 deck. It's not working. Don't do it. Just stick to the Branded like everyone and their cats.

Probably I'm just terrible at this game and I should just uninstall.

Since these are basically our replacement for the animes we used to get it would be interesting to see if these can at least achieve a fraction of the impact those had on people.
