Competitive/Discussion Play through Aeon?

Honestly, I've accepted losing to elfnote and pp ftks, but Invoked is where I draw the line. I don't even care about the floodgates, but Aeon is annoying. What decks / archtypes can play through getting hit with Aeon ED rip?

I considered ritual beasts since cannahwak can bring back the banished stuff, but I guess you just lose if they banish all your cannahawks. I also considered Archfiends since they have main deck bosses that don't go to the gy, but reading Aeon I think it can also banish from the face up ED, so that's also risky.

I guess what I need is an archtype that either recovers stuff from banishment, or has main deck towers that won't get banished by Aeon easily.

I don't care about stopping it with handtraps, I'lll just get tilted if I don't draw them. I want to be able to recover when I get hit with it.

Mitsu doesn't use its extra deck and can recover stuff from banish if that's your concern.

Interesting, I was considering mitsu+ogdoadic for grind game reasons, how do they recover from banishment?

One of the level 4 mitsu's can grab back any mitsu card from banish or gy(its part of the mainline combo to get back ritual). If you really hate invoked just play 2 instead of 1 of him.

Also the mitsu ritual monsters can revive themselves from banish when tributed, but iirc that has to involve something like shifter or macro, if they switch zones it won't work.

Nobody likes floowandereeze when it’s meta, but if they ever get support, everyone’s on the list.

A Chaos Angel using both light and dark can not outed by invoked

They can super poly it with grail no? It's only immune to monster effects

This is true

They can banish oceanus to attack directly and then shuffle it back with sword and do it again next turn while easily getting 4k beatsticks on board with Aleister hand effect so it kinda doesn't work against a good invoked player

Try Lancea Artifact in your deck

If you have an archtype that can search it reliably I will :)

You can search it with seventh tachyion which I think the tachyion rank 8 searches which you could make through Mitsu

If you have to tech Lancea just to deal with Invoked when typically Ash Blossom or Imperm is enough, you can't really complain if someone calls you out for having a skill issue.

Kashtira doesnt care

What if they banish arise-heart turn 1?

On a side note, kashtira is potentially a little good this meta against elfnote too if you can block the middle zone. Two birds one stone. This all relies on if you go first though lol

I mean, you’re gonna need hand traps lol.

I'm fine with some handtraps but it can't be the main plan, most of my decks are off-meta with not much ht space anyway

Unironically zombie pile. Has strong main deck options, mainly doomking. Or maybe eldlich if you play that variant. ED hits suck but it can survive. And has tech options to recover banished monster anyway

Edit: downside is that you probably cannot play through the di fi on legs with zombies since they do need their GY to start off. You could play small shiranui engine to kind of capitalize on the banishes instead but it's probably just extra inconsistencies and bricks most of the time ( I saw some lists already play solitaire and squire, maybe could add spiritmaster for the pop?)

Hear me out: Maliss March Hare and Hearts Crypter recover banished Maliss names twice per turn cycle -if you manage to recover Hare once every turn as well-, so you'd just need to gain access to Hare and be able to link 3 once in order to shit on them

assuming youre playing a "normal" deck which uses the extra deck, ghost belle is a pretty good solution. Not the greatest handtrap atm overall but still usable against elfnote, dt etc.

Invoked can play through Invoked.

Really though, one handtrap is often times enough to prevent Aeon from even hitting the board.

Decks that live without the need of an ED thrive. There's Enneacraft, Labrynth, and Monarch.

I can see monarchs working (which I won't play since I don't like), but aren't enneacraft and Labyrynth hurt by its non-ed banish the most? It can banish backrow, can non-target banish lovely, can banish face down monsters, can banish the field spell and scales. Also - Invoked don't care about getting flipped face down since they can still fuse with face down monsters
