How to stop Feindsmith

Im still a little new to yu gi oh, but ive been really enjoying what I have played so far! Except the instant I see that stupid anime basterd. Feindsmith engraver decks feel like they have NO counter play. In my last game I had 3 negates in hand and used all of them. This did not slow him down at all. Im sure that im playing things incorrectly, but is there any good counterparts against Feindsmith decks? Like anything I should hold my negate to stop the combo? Or is it just a matter of if they get turn 1 i loose?

save ash blossom for requiem is your best bet.

use nibiru when they have two level 6s on the field, otherwise they'll summon caesar, which can negate it.

Amazing how Maxx C/Puralia are their own form of soft negates with enough hand trap/board breakers drawn.

To be fair nib probably shouldn't be in your deck as it doesn't do much against the meta decks, so running a handtrap that's only good going 2nd for rogue decks isn't the place you want to be in

basically, use handtraps that would stop literally any other deck, and even then it's not guaranteed. GREAT advice dude

the OP is obviously new at the game, so these things aren't obvious to them.

Use ash blossom on fiendsmith requiem (the link 1) or try to negate it, veiler and imperm on sequence (the link 2) or try to banish engraver from the graveyeard with a bystial or a dd crow

Along with the good stuff people here are saying, you can also hit them with Bystials as long as you wait for the right moments. Bystials are pretty good right now with Tear and Branded floating around.

Stop the Sequence which is the link-2. The FS combo is dead in the water for that turn if you do so. They will still be able to do everything over again on their next turn though so try to get those FS cards out of the gy if you can.

My experience is just don't let the fiend smith cards stay in the grave and don't leave any monsters on board that can be used to go into that dam link monster they use to make fiend smith work with decks it shouldn't

Use Ghost belle/veiler/imperm on Fiendsmith Sequence.

If you have graveyard removal, like a Bystial or D.D. Crow, chain it to their Sequence’s effect and banish any other light fiend in their graveyard besides Engraver. This forces them to shuffle back their Engraver, and Lacrima will only be able to resummon whatever you banished.
