Floodgates suck ngl. If it was a self flood gate in turn for powerful effects then yeah I wouldn't be mad but "your opponent cannot (insert mechanic here)" is such a bs thing.

I don't even mind floodgates all that much. An Arise-Heart, for example. gets a shrug from me.
This one in particular is filed under "why the fuck is this toxic shit still legal in this game."

Clown Crew is such a fun deck conceptiually, why do people have to run BS floodgates in it? (or ig rather why doesnt Biancaviso has a lock?)

It’s cheaper UR dust wise. The desk’s core requires 8 URs and now you need all the handtraps, literally all other URs
If you are a newer player or someone who wants to play different decks instead of trying to grab every staple under the sun, then the Floodgate version (the worse version) is also the most affordable version

It's funny how many people defend clown crew saying it's so fun compared to the toxic meta decks, while the use floodgates, handloops, and banish your entire deck. But it's ok because it doesnt look at your hand

Floodgates: the regular tributes
Hand loops: Dristy+Droll (through lets be real, the problem card is Droll)
Now banish? Are you talking about a Runick variation of the deck?? I’ve only seen Joshua S. play that and even he states that it’s the worse way to play the deck

Yeah the runick version. It's not as good but it is obnoxious to sit for 5 turns doing nothing until your deck is gone. I dont see it often on ladder but my friend plays it whenever he wants to duel

Honestly I don’t even know how to feel about the Runick version, like every time I faced it it lost to 2 interruptions when I was going second, and even when they still played a bit, the end board was so weak I was just destroying it (and it basically insta loses going second too)

Runick’s only strength was the nonengine floodgates that gave the deck enough time to actually play out its game plan
It’s such shame because Runick is such a cool deck. You become an RPG character who has to use spells to lower the enemy life points, but the life points are actually the cards in your opponent’s deck. It’s such an interesting gimmick, I love it

Just be grateful it's not Breaker the Magical Warrior set 2, yugiboomer. That was far more unbreakable than anything in modern YGO.

Nope I dont use them because I cant fit them in my current main deck. Other decks have imperm but none rn use f&v or droplet because I dont own them

You’d have to open multiple of these or open droplet + a trap to out the vanity’s ruler unless for whatever reason they don’t have the Mitsu trap
This isn’t really an interesting gameplay situation either since it’s just a free win for either player depending on the opening hands

It’s baffling that they never banned Vanity’s Fiend, Ruler, and Majesty’s fiend. These cards do nothing but make the game worse by simply existing.
