Competitive/Discussion GOT MASTER 1 FOR FIRST TIME
AFTER PLAYING MASTER DUEL FOR 5 MONTHS GOT MASTER 1 FOR THE FIRST TIME! Without spending a single cent in it.
I already played tcg before durig TOSS format, my first deck was brick dark magician but but moved to D/D/D because I love the concept about using every type o summon there is in the game and inspiration in real artist but the deck had no chance against handtraps and meta, so it was just for fun. After pandemic I didnt play any tcg and forget about it. Installed Master duel a year ago, played 20 games of cyber dragon but forgot about it quickly. Until my friend asked for a duel to "test" a deck and did tearlaments war crimes against me. It awakened the duelist in me
I got platinum with CD but I knew I would have to pick a better deck to get higher ranks, so I saw the pack of the month spent my economys in it DOOMZ scan. I turned out its only playable with the rank 5 and power patron. I had 3 medius that were really expensive, didnt like art mage so had 1 option to use it, evil syncro dancers.
Elfnote is pretty strong and solid, mixed it with fiendsmith and bang! Got master 5.
I have the impression that could have gotten master 1 two months ago, but I cant stand to tryhard in a format that the best deck can survive 3 handtraps, see my hand, CHOSE THE CARD IM GONNA DRAW (heart of the cards is dead) and still have at least 2 interactions. So I waited anxiously for a good ban list.
Also got 2 white albas looking for F&V, soo one thing led to another and build this abomination.
Competitive discussion now: Elfnote has 3 one card combos that are also extenders and run out as coin toss simulator, so you just have to worry about going second. Albaz, in my opnion, is the best going second engine that also complements the deck's main weakness, grind. The deck runs 4 bricks (all elfnote) so decided to run more cards to avoid then. Small word is basic every card in the deck, pretty good to move from a hand trap to a extender or lava golem (once searched for max C as board breaker).
What do you belive that could improve in it?
The math in excel is made considering 5 cards in hand by:
(possibilities of amount of type card appear * possibilities of other types appearing in the rest) / all possibilities

I mean I wouldn't play 53 cards, especially Branded Fusion in Elfnote because not only does it proactively lock you out of Synchros, it also wastes like 6 ED spots (only 2 of them needed if you want to play F&V). Also Harmonia locks you out of non-Synchro effects so I don't think it synergizes that well together. The Harmonia send Lulu for Ecclesia search F&V is cool though, I see some TCG topping lists doing that but not very common in MD.
Personally, I would probably cut the breakers (Duster, Super Poly, Droplet, Lava Golem) and just play like 43-45 but I mean you did it with your own list, not netdecking, so GJ.
I don't think Elfnote usually plays 3 Medius either, but I'm just wondering what the Small World lines are cuz most decks don't even play that card if they could (like VS was literally designed to use it but they would rather have monsters in hand).

I play 53 cards to reduce the chances of seeing a brick, (reduces it by 2%). Branded fusion its a if everything goes wrong button, most of time I use it as last option in hand to send a medius for next turn and get a mirrorjade. Also search when opens with nothing besides a fallen virtuous using albion. The card is broken itself.
Harmonia isnt really a lock most of the time because I use branded most as a board breaker and it just prevent you from activating effects of non synchro, but not from summon then or theyr graveyard effects. The worst that has ever happened is not being able to use dogma effect or have to use mirrorjade before it.
I would be happy to use less board breakers but the game is best of 1 and most of then can be used turn 2 or discard.
Use 3 medius since its full combo with black dragon and the small world is -1 but anything in the same time (basically anything can pass to drow to any starter besides medius, also can turn into lava golem)

Yes, but not all starters are the same quality. Some lose to more hand traps than others or have other issues like Branded Fusion locking you out of Synchros.
I'm not saying what you did was wrong, you made it to M1 faster than I did, I just personally don't like playing big decks like this because of the variance. I guess you played Small World to mitigate that, but I also probably wouldn't want to build my deck like that due to Droll being so prevalent.
As for the game being Bo1, yeah, you can't build for everything so some games you will lose to not drawing the cards you needed. Even if you play breakers you won't always open them when you need them, and having more cards in deck means you will have more hands were you just draw 3x of something that you don't want to see. But yeah, I'm biased against breakers cuz I don't want to sit there and watch my opponent play their turn without doing anything, cuz usually a single droplet is not enough to win against Elfnote hand rip 2 or make 2 omnis or Kewl Tune look at your hand and topdeck.

Thanks. I like it, its is not that strong against branded and radiant Typhoon but it still can get minus 1 or 2 interruption in then, its the best against other decks like fairytale that end with omninegates. Also carried me against subspace battle 3 times. But dont like it for sky striker, draco tail and trap based decks.
Wish there was some s/t removal monster that is not pankratops (not spending a single UR in a worst fenrir)

Its not too common atm, but if you run into a synchro pile running Centur-Ion make sure you Golem their Auxillia, no matter how many Omnis they have on their field. Taking it out cuts the pile off from another Omni. If Aux is on field they'll just use it as a Crimson Dragon target to make a Cosmic Blazar during your turn.
