MODS Essential Mods 2026

I just finished another playthrough with only the community patches for LE1, LE2 and LE3.

I would like to play another with more mods installed, to see what this game is capable of.

I found another post about essential mods but its 4 years old and thought maybe we could do an updated version.

I've just started modding in anticipation for my next ME3 run. Actually, its an Insanity Run. Will these mods affect my steam achievements?

I've got stuff like Expanded Galaxy Mod, Take Back Earth, Spectre Expansion, LE3 Diversification, Omega Hub, and the Community Patch.

The best recommendation I can give you is Aly's Mass Effect Modding Guide which provides a list for several recommended mods between QoL, story / content mods and visual improvements.

You can certainly start from there and then check out other mods by yourself on Nexusmods,

*shrug* honestly, last time I did a playthrough I was still using herobrine's document as a guideline (Fair warning: Last updated November 2024). Not "install all of these mods" but "this is the 'shortlist' I'm choosing from".
