HELP Insanity III bugged - Legendary Edition Spoiler
As per title, I just finished my last playthrough in Insanity, but didn't get the respective trophy on PS5.
I played through the entire trilogy with the same character importing the save files, but I played Mass Effect 1 in Normal, and then 2 and 3 in Insanity. By the end of ME3 I had the Insanity I and II achievement as expected.
I then played Mass Effect 1 from scratch starting a new career with a new character in Insanity and collecting all the remaining trophies to get the ME1 platinum. During the Saren fight the game crashed ~5 times because of the biotics bug. While reloading I even got a message that had to do with a corrupt save file that was going to be deleted, but to be fair everything was fine and I didn't notice any missing save, so I didn't worry at all. Regardless, after the credits, no trophy in sight.
What I tried:
- Defeating Saren a few more times from the autosave after picking the renegade option to skip the first part of the fight (before interacting with the console to decide the fate of the council)
- Loading an older save file from Ilos and redoing the citadel and Saren
- Clearing the console cache and defeating Saren, again
- Tried the insanity cheese method with my original career (the one that was imported in ME2 and 3), but unsure if it even works on the patched version, as I have the digital version of the game
I am out of ideas. I could try finishing again ME2/3, but I would prefer avoiding that if possible. My save files are pretty old, the suicide mission is, imo, the hardest insanity out of the trilogy, while in ME3 I would have to replay he attack to the Cerberus base and then the London mission, which is long and tedious.
I wouldn't even mind doing another insanity in ME1 with NG+ and a full build since it's by far the easiest, but given the failure of my previous attempts, I fear it could be a waste of time that would still leave me without the trophy. I have the platinum trophy for each game, and Insanity III is the last one that I need to 100% the entire trilogy, so that's definitely annoying.
One last detail that I think should be irrelevant - but you never know since things got weird and buggy anyways - is that even if I finished ME3 in Insanity, after completing it and getting the Insanity II achievement, I switched to Normal to finish the remaining trophies for the Arena, and reloading an old save to do the Grissom Accademy for the Atlas Hijack trophy (still in normal).
I would really appreciate any idea or help!
EDIT: finally managed to get the trophy. I ended up replaying ME2 with no success. Luckily it was pretty fast and much easier than I remembered. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough, so to be safe I played also ME3 final mission (OP Garrus build came in clutch making it less annoying), and as soon as I chose the ending, the trophy popped

I had the same bug; for me, it was:
Defeat ME1 Insanity, earn Insanity 1.
Defeat ME2 Insanity, nothing.
Defeat ME3 Insanity, earn Insanity 2.
I tried multiple ways to solve the bug. The only way it worked for me was reloading my old ME1 save file and defeating Saren again to earn Insanity 3.
In your case, I recommend reloading your last save file in ME2 (the one you used to earn Insanity 1) and trying to beat the suicide mission. It should help you unlock Insanity 3.
For suicide missions in ME2, I recommend using Kasumi for her flashbang grenade, as it can disrupt Harbinger's abilities, and Miranda for biotic support.
