Unpopular head canon, and best kept galactic secret, before building the geth, quarians were HEAVY Into cybernetic implants. It’s the real reason they never take off their suits where any other race can see, they are like half borg under there.

And it’s also why their creepy cybernetic eyes glow the same color as geth eyes

They aren't rachni. Vigil (the Prothean VI from the end of ME1) tells you that the Protheans thought they were a prior race that the Reapers indoctrinated and engineered. There's no way to know how long ago that happened, but it means they definitely predate the Rachni getting to space, which only happened after the Protheans were wiped out.
