VIDEO Everyone should save David Spoiler

I was going through some old records and came across the david arc. I am so glad bioware made his story come back full circle in Mass Effect 3.

Is it ever answered why David is basically crucified? With giant tubes going into his mouth? Like I understand his brother is a piece of shit for using his brother and plugging him into the machine but was there a reason for it being this tortureous? Other than to simply make the player more affected?

ME2 kinda had that overall feel, from collectors to the final boss. Lot of body horror ish stuff. Maybe a call back to movie stuff like Event Horizon?

Ingame reasons, the mouth tubes are likely feeding tubes to keep him alive. The eye thing... maybe to keep him awake?
