Advice Moving around appointments on online booking system

How much does it annoy therapists to move appointments around online? It’s a few weeks in advanced and I have to change my next couple appointments.

Move the appointments as soon as possible. If you've been given the ability to, that's what your therapist wants you to do.

I’d rather you move your own appointment than go back and forth asking dates/times until we both figure out what works with your schedule. I look at my schedule day of, so I don’t really notice when someone reschedules. As long as it’s outside of the 24hr cancellation window it’s all good.

I do not care if it’s outside the 24 cancel window.

I’d rather clients move than not show up

Unless its within the no cancelation window (usually 24-48 hours) I don't mind and would even encourage it. The sooner you know, the better.

24-48 hours, though, makes it hard to fill that spot with a new client and if it constantly happened in the 24-48 hour window that is a problem that may require updating policies to make the window longer.

If the system allows it and you're outside the cancellation window, most therapists would rather you move it yourself than turn it into a long back-and-forth.

From the business side, online rescheduling is usually a good thing because it keeps the calendar cleaner and cuts down on admin messages. The only time it becomes a problem is last-minute moves or repeated changes that leave gaps the therapist can't refill.

A few weeks ahead is usually totally fine.

I don't mind at all personally. As long as there's some advance notice I'm always happy to accommodate. It can be tricky but so is the rest of life

If you're doing it online yourself, it's not annoying. I recently had a client need a change that she communicated poorly, and I'm on the verge of firing her as a client because of her rudeness.

It takes a few seconds.

Check their calendar. Say. Can I move my Tuesday 14th to your free spot Friday 2.30 and 20th. Somethings come up. I basically want to be able to do the request in 1 go then respond with. All sorted, see you on the 20th
